The Pontoon Boat Dog Ladder is secured to the deck of the boat using threaded inserts. The inserts are installed into the deck material so they are flush with the deck surface, then threaded knobs are inserted through the ladder's mounting plate and into the inserts to hold the dog ladder in place. To remove the dog ladder, simply unscrew the threaded knobs and pull the ladder up and out of the water.

When the dog ladder is removed, only the threaded inserts remain.
