As long as you have a patio, deck, or other platform surface at the edge of the pool for the Pool Dog Ladder to attach to, it is compatible with both types of pools.

The Pool Dog Ladder has extended Angle Pivot Plates which allow it to stretch inward past any decorative tile or coping that you may have around an in-ground pool or the non-load bearing lip (sometimes referred to as the top rail or top cap) of an above-ground pool.

Please note that the Pool Dog Ladder has a total drop of 28" from the top of the patio or deck to the bottom of the ladder. To prevent damage to the pool line, the bottom of the ladder should not rest on the floor of the pool. When mounting in shallow water, you may consider cutting off a step or two to ensure the ladder does not sit on the pool floor.
